Arkansas Motorsports Park
Dirt Track Racing in South Central Arkansas
Update for Monday April 13, 2009 >>>
We feel racing should be a family sport and at Arkansas Motorsports Park (AMP) it will be a family safe haven for all to enjoy the sport of racing. We will not allow Alcohol or drugs on property.
Here are some of the things that have been going on, currently going on and will be going on at AMP.
We are looking forward to great dirt track speedway racing that the whole family can enjoy in Warren, Arkansas in 2009!

I would like to say that we are ready to start racing. While, unfortunately I can not say that just yet. We are praying for some dry weather so we can get more work done. However there are some bright spots to report. And those bright spots concern our track lights. The lights are all wired up, and this past week we were able to get them all aimed. So the track lights are all set to go.
The scoring tower is almost finished and we have been able to get some dirt work done I’ve been wanting to do. We just need a little more dry weather and we should have the dirt work completed.
We have had several racers come by the track and take a look at it and the the feedback they are giving me is, they like what they see and the track is a bigger than what some folks are telling. But don’t take their word or my word for it, anyone is more than welcome to stop by the track and take a look if you like.
Well we have more work to do on the track, I will try and get another update on the site in a week or two and hopefully a better idea as to when we can have a “play day (night)” and when we plan to have the first race. Thanks for your interest in our new track. More to come.... Gary Smith
March 26, 2009 Update
Well, good news! We finally got the lights up this past Saturday! As of this morning the Electric company was at the track and running the underground service to the lights. They are even going to run the wires from light to light for us. The Supervisor told me that if the weather holds the wiring for the lights should be done by Tuesday of next week (March 31).
The lights look great standing in the infield. As soon as I can remember to put my camera in the truck I will take some updated pictures to send to Roy over at KARTHOST.com to place up on the web site for me.
There are 40 lights that are 1500 watts each, the racers might have to wear tinted visors. :) The lights are on 70 foot poles, so glare in the drivers face should not be a problem at the track.
More updates to come as things progress. Gary Smith
March 17, 2009 Update
Well, things are not moving along as fast as we would like, with a few set backs over the past few weeks, the tracks light poles and attached lights are ready to go up. However, the extra heavy poles we have were a little to heavy for our lift truck and unable to lift the poles to be planted into the ground. We are currently looking for a lift truck that can get this job done, once the rain stops and we have had a little dry time we will be able to get in and finish installing the track lights.
We are still working on the track rules, we will have them out in the near future. It appears we are going to miss our dates in March and April as originally planned. We will post dates for “play day” and the expected date for start of racing as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience! Gary Smith
